There are 2 main ways you can fuck up your business growth when you’re trying to get traction in your new business or turnaround a fledgling business which isn’t quite there yet.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Rabbit Holes<\/strong>Seeing\/reading something that piques your interest and you spend the next hour\/day\/week learning everything you can about that topic… which then leads you to another… and another – and then you “know” all about this new system\/way of thinking – but you’re still no closer to actually implementing anything!and… <\/li>\n
  2. Shiny Object Syndrome<\/strong>This is what happens when you’re desperately flailing around looking for a strategy which is going to “turn this ship around” and give you all the answers you were seeking. Onna plate.It could be the latest “this is how I gained 1000 clients in 2 hours – DM me now” \ud83d\ude02\ud83d\ude44 – or the “must have” bit of software. *An in an era of consent DMs seem even more sleazy & inappropriate<\/a>!<\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    What you CAN do to get clients for your coaching or service-based business is… take a deep breath and realise that marketing fundamentals haven’t changed since you were a wee nipper.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

    Seriously! Mode of delivery may have changed – but principles remain.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

    You need to demonstrate that you are knowledgeable, trustworthy, serious about your work and that you’re delivering a quality product. <\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<\/p>\n

    Because since the dawn of time – that’s what we’ve traded for. We’ve handed over our cash\/goods in return for something we want.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

    Yet here we are in the modern online world and I see women chasing the “latest strategy” which invariably skips over those initial steps, negates to include the ENORMOUS amount of work it took and various other omissions – making the entire thing sound easy-peasy-lemon-squeazy. <\/p>\n

    And… the inevitable result is : <\/p>\n<\/p>\n

    Feelings of failure, burn-out, unease and… straight back to Rabbit Hole + Shiny Object.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

    How to Really Win Coaching Clients<\/h2>\n<\/p>\n

    Reel it back – and produce content. It really is that simple!<\/span><\/p>\n<\/p>\n

    Your client is likely an earlier iteration of yourself. Which means you can forget those silly, pointless ICA worksheets where you say she’s “Kelly from Ohio, married with 2 kids, reads Cosmo blah blah”.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

    She’s you. Your ICA is you – and you know you better than ANYONE<\/span>.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

    So when you’re creating that content to demonstrate your reliability, honesty, talent, worth, experience et al – you’re writing\/talking to YOU! Or at least talking to you as though she were your friend asking for your advice + thoughts.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

    Which couldn’t really be simpler – because we’re always kinder + more helpful to others than we would be to ourselves. <\/p>\n<\/p>\n

    In terms of content production – it’s your job to create an Inbound Marketing Strategy<\/a> which demonstrates that you are an industry leader and influence – and NOT a follower! <\/p>\n<\/p>\n
