Your Resistance to Growing Your Audience

"GUILTY your honour".

That's me. Right there.

Guilty for being FUCKING INVISIBLE and resisting growing my own audience.

(Reader: I got the fuck over myself and build my audience DAILY!)

Because... let's ignore all the GOOD stuff about growing your audience which I know you already know.

So let's talk about the bad stuff.

Let's talk about the fact that when you put yourself - and it IS you because YOU are the brand - out there in the big, bad world you once held with contempt - you will be judged.

Fuck yeh. You will be judged.

And that's scary - and more scary than random people on the internet thinking "nah, she's a fucking idiot" - are the people you know in real life who are close to you.

THEY are the scary ones.

What if THEY think you're a fool chasing a stupid dream?

What if you grow your audience and then you have to SERVE all those CLIENTS?

Ooof! The pressure!

Then you'll REALLY need to show up and deliver on your promises rather than fannying around planning your 'perfect day' and imagining your life as a successful entrepreneur.

What do you do when you make a SHIT TON of money - will people think you're a brat? Or a scammer? Or a snake-oil salesman?

Possibly.

Safer to retreat.

Build the landing page.

Build the freebie optin.

Build the sales sequence, the sales page, the checkout cart, the purchase sequence, the first 4 modules of the course... hang out with the Boring Bitches of Online Business and call it 'networking'.

But put it out there?

Put YOU out there?

Nah. For some reason this brings about MASSIVE resistance and THIS is a major trap female entrepreneurs fall in to.

"Build it and they will come" means you can keep yourself REALLY busy in your business.

"Phew! I worked 50 hours this week putting together a funnel and my new landing page".

But nobody knows.

Nobody.

Maybe Google.

Maybe.

But you go right ahead and keep telling yourself how hard you're working and how it's all coming together. You do that. Pat yourself on the back.

Your audience is the ONLY way you're going to get affirmation from others that you're doing it right.

You should NEVER need their validation to know that you're on the right path FOR YOU - but you sure as shit need to get over yourself and start dedicating a SIGNIFICANT amount of time to growing your audience.

Because without it? You're playing at web design and business.

Playing at being a successful and fearless entrepreneur.

Playing at being a course creator, thought leader and subject icon.

What's the WORST that could happen if you're SUCCESSFUL?

Isn't it time you got over yourself and actually BUILT this damned business you keep saying you WANT?
