Optimism Means Finding the Path – Not Being Poly-Fucking-Anna!

If you want to be a successful online entrepreneur and there's a burning desire within you to "make it" - then you need to be an optimist.

There's a world of difference between being a pessimistic arse expecting everything to fail - which it probably will if your attitude stinks like that... - and a sparkly, shiny Pollyanna type who sees the best in absolutely everything served up with a hefty portion of denial - but if you want to succeed? You need to be optimistic.

Now this doesn't mean that you see unicorns and rainbows in everything you look at and that your entire day exists below a glittery meteor shower - but that you BELIEVE things WILL work out - if you keep doing the fucking work, keep trying new strategies and angles.

And if it fails? You'll tweak it - pivot it, try again.

It's not about being blind to limitations or denying reality - but knowing that you will FIND a way.

A few months ago I moved house to a place with seriously shit broadband.

At that point I decided "wahey! I won't have to do live video" (which I fucking hate, blogging & newsletters are my preferred bag!).

It was also a MAJOR barrier in giving live group coaching because of the unreliability of my connection.

Then I decided once more to do a group coaching program even though I hadn't quit ironed out this broadband issue. I knew it would work itself out.

I knew I could buy extra (if not expensive!) data so that I could host live calls because the broadband as it stood would be of unacceptable quality for my customers.

And I went right ahead and designed my course. Sold my course.

BEFORE I'd figured out the broadband problem.

I mean seriously, it's so shit this end that last weekend even Alexa was having problems following instructions - you know, worse than usual! 😂

With only 6 days to go until the course launched I got a text message from my phone provider giving me unlimited data for $20/month.

No-fucking-brainer!

Mobile data is great here despite an ageing broadband infrastructure.

Now... had I said "no, I can't create until ALL THE BITS ARE IN PLACE" I'd still be waiting... putting it all on hold, making excuses for not being able to go ahead, telling myself that lack of trustworthy broadband was going to STOP me being an online course provider.

But I DECIDED to be optimistic and I DECIDED that it WOULD all work out.

And it did (has).

Stop putting shit on hold just because you don't have all the pieces in place right now, here, today.

Make the decision that everything will work out just fine if you start the process.

Maybe it's the universe sending peace cookies? Who knows - I ain't arguing - especially with omnipotent forces! 😁

I've always been a firm believer in the phrase "there's more than one way to skin a cat" - and being a neurodiverse entrepreneur, I've always known that one of the things I excel at is finding a different path/alternative solution.

I've ALWAYS got a Plan B, a Plan C - and quite often all the way through to Z.

I'm resourceful and I can "hack" a workaround.

I see too many female entrepreneurs waiting to start. Waiting to have ALL the words, ALL the ideas, ALL the pieces, the RIGHT numbers (whatever the fuck those might be) - and they're not taking action because they're telling themselves they'll do it AFTER X happens.

If X ever does happen - then they'll tell themselves that they're STILL not quite ready, now they need Y to be in place.

... And they never take action. 😞

You need to take control of the situation. Trust in optimism. Trust in yourself and trust yourself to find a way - because really - it's the ONLY way.
