Burn Down the Fucking Ship!

There comes a point during your professional and personal business development when you look around and think "FUCK ALL OF THIS" - let's BURN THE DAMNED SHIP DOWN

Sounds extreme maybe, but there comes a point where the "old way" isn't working for you anymore and you want to take back that control.

It's all good and well running along with the herd as you get yourself established - I mean obviously, it'll serve you well to avoid the crocodiles... but hey? Someone's gotta be that poor wildebeest! 😂

It's not about being reckless or doing anything utterly fucking insane, but you need to FORCE CHANGE.

In my own life, I've produced the best work and taken the biggest leaps when making HUGE changes and BURNING THE FUCKING SHIP.

When I was 20 life wasn't going the way I wanted it to - so I headed out to Istanbul.

Back in the early 90s I was at a total loss of what to do. I'd finished school but found myself working in a supermarket and I hated it. Every single minute of it. I had fire in my belly and wasn't ready to do a "mom job" but the UK economy was on its knees and I was thankful to have food on the table!

I had no direction, didn't know what I was going to do - but knew that the status quo wasn't working for me.

One day I'd had enough and I quit both my job and my apartment.

I had less than 4 weeks to figure my sh*t out!

So I did what any normal person would do. I arranged a job interview a couple of hundred miles away working as a groom for a show-jumper with accommodation included... and then I booked a one-way ticket to Istanbul to go meet up with a guy I'd met on a beach a few months back!

Back then of course there was no internet, no email, no messaging and not everyone had a phone in their apartment. So I sent a letter. Unbeknown to me it had arrived at his apartment literally hours before he'd had to leave for the airport to come and collect me!

Obviously I'm not still in Turkey all these years later, but that leap of faith trip shaped my adult life in that I then spent 20 years living overseas before coming home to Scotland in 2014.

Burned that motherfuckin' ship DOWN! 😂

To achieve substantial growth and genuinely steer the path you're on towards a better destination - you need to CHOOSE to MAKE the CHANGE.

Wishin' & hopin' doesn't deliver.

Actually doing the hard stuff does.

In the world of online business - what we're seeing right now is a whole bunch o' people going down with their fucking ships.

Continuing to throw money at ads on Facebook - pretty much used to be a cash-machine, but these days is a bottomless pit... and continuing with the same strategy that worked LAST year. 2 years ago. 5 years ago.

That's because when you're running your business on SOMEONE ELSE'S REAL ESTATE (Facebook/Social Media/Ads) you're just a ticket holder on someone else's fucking BOAT! A TOURIST!

There's only one person around who's going to be able to make things different - only one person who can elevate your life and business - and that's you!

Burn the fucking ship down and re-build.

I dunno... maybe you fancy a hovercraft, catamaran or mile long cruise ship - your preference!  My son wants to be a marine biologist and wants to get a boat in the Bahamas and for me to go visit - works for me kiddo! 😁

Your new boat might initially be a raft crafted together with salvaged drift-wood and roped together with braided seaweed.

But it's ONLY going to be yours - and it's sustainable.

You're no longer a ticket-holding passenger on someone else's cruise ship!

This is why you NEED to own your own Digital Real Estate - and I mean a BLOG and your own damned COMMUNITY!

Come join me for FUCK THE HUSTLE - Blog & Grow With Flow and I'll help you turn that raft into an all-weather sea-worthy vessel! (With a bedroom & coffee-machine natch... 😂).
