Why a Digital Audit Won’t Make Your Course Fly Off the Shelf!

When your stuff isn't selling and you're flapping around like a fish out of water trying to figure out what the fuck is going wrong - and why people aren't. buying. your. stuff - then it's easy to grab at solutions which SEEM like they offer that magic elixir and will solve the problems.

One service creators, online coaches and course providers often turn to is a "Digital Audit" where they bring in a professional to check out their digital footprint and see what's going on. It often involves a keyword search, SEO-analysis, branding congruence, pricing analysis and so forth.

But the trouble is - most of that is irrelevant.

Sure - if your site takes an age to load it puts people off (fell into that trap myself before I upgraded my hosting!) - BUT the rest?

Your SEO and keywords are JUST A FORMALITY if your copy isn't great.

Your branding assets don't make people buy!

When push comes to shove - sales ALWAYS come about by the written (or spoken) word. That's why it's possible to sell in black & white print in newspapers - and has been - for over 100 years... way, way, way before SEO was even a twinkle in Tim Berners-Lee's eye!

Your copy, your personality, your promises of transformation are what will sell.

The rest is 99% superfluous.

So when someone's telling you that your SEO sucks, or your IG feed "could be better" you need to have an honest conversation with yourself about whether that's actually true or not with regards to getting sales and customers who have done their due diligence and want to work with you.

On exactly zero planets whatsoever will someone drop $5k on your program just because your IG feed is a think of beauty.

They want to know about the program - and that's where the copy comes in to it.

And no designer matching font-sets are going to make up for the words you actually write and the way you verbally sell your course or program.

KILLER COPYWRITING BRINGS COURSE SALES

A digital audit needs to focus on your copywriting. Point.

If someone comes back to you and tells you that the logo on your long-forgotten Twitter account doesn't match the logo on your Facebook page - that means jack shit in terms of ACTUAL visibility + ACTUAL sales.

Ask yourself whether you want "matching logos" or killer copy.

Killer copy on your website. Killer copy on your emails. Killer copy on your handouts. Killer copy. Killer copy.

Lame-assed vanilla won't cut the mustard. Not anywhere.

You get the clients you deserve - and if your lame-assed copy is somehow unbelievably landing you clients - you can bet your ass they'll be lame-assed clients too!
