This morning whilst chatting to my kids about "life lessons" we discussed the "watch what they do - not what they say" phenomena.
It's a lesson we as humans often need to be "taught" - but that dog in the picture above? It knows. It knows the intentions of its human and doesn't need to be taught.
But when it comes to the online world, there are a whole loada sharks circling - often with less-than-honourable intentions... yet they're often the ones making all-a the noise and getting all-a the attention.
And you can run with that if you want to. That's your choice 100%.
Or... you can "walk the floor" and actually be who you are, and live your life as an example, treat your clients like real people and operate with honesty and integrity in everything you do.
Much information to coaches is to reach out to friends & acquaintances - and, should you get a stranger in your orbit - "brow beat" them into signing on the dotted line and handing over their creditcard details - and this bit makes me puke/wince - some advice is even to help your potential client FIND credit. 🙄🤮
Seriously - if that doesn't make you feel more than a little uneasy - you and I are done right now and you can click away and you need never read another 2 words from me - no hard feelings.
But... if you're thinking "there has to be another way" - then yeh, you're right.
It's about showing up and showing what you can do - and you do that through the creation of content and being GENUINELY helpful.
Blank workbooks don't help ANYONE! I mean sure, they might help the owners of Canva out - but people who know what they're supposed to be doing don't need your pretty workbook - they could be writing all these steps in a bullet-journal.
People who need your HELP, need more structured guidance - and you, as the EXPERT are the one who needs to deliver this - and you do this through creating useful & informative content.
This way you draw people into your world, but without being a sleazy shitbag or losing your soul - you're just operating as you - DOING WHAT YOU DO and you don't need to make any wild claims or brag about bollocks - because you are being true to you.
And... the clients worth having? They're the ones that see that.
You don't want a client who's "falling" for the BS & traps.
Keep on kicking on and being genuine - it really is the only way!
